Steephill Cove Memory

The wax-fawn’s throat
of Spring’s red olive, the pale jasper
of Steephill’s moon

your eye’s chalice-chestnut
in nights of pear blossom

stay with me in memory
and we’ll love them forever
if forever is gone.
